I'm SO glad you're havig a good experience at Cleveland! I TOTALLY agree with you on the timing of this thematic unit. I was about to put a few more adjectives in front of that, but I guess it would be better for me to leave that alone! I feel like pulling my hair out EVERY day, but we're 3 weeks away from certification (thank you, Jesus) so we just have to hang in there and eventually, this too shall pass. On a positive note, I'm learning how to keep my mouth shut in order to spare the feelings of those in charge!

I so wish I had your teacher at Cleveland. She is wonderful. I wish that there were more teachers with 20 plus years of expierence willing to take on students teachers, because I feel like I would learn more in not letting the stress from admid get to me, and to focus on the students more. Plus, a new teacher can learn a lot of productive short cuts from a teacher that has been in the game that long, such as not getting lost in the details that other people WANT and seeing the full picture.

I Really, Really wish I had your teacher. While I was there, I learned so much from the short conversation that we had, such as how to grade a failing student, and which type of Indians lived in Georgia. I bet shes just filling your head with all the knowledge of how to make it as teacher for so long.

That's okay about the PSP, we have hunger now. I think it'll probably be positive and beneficial to those who are most hungry.

Also, NO! We don't have a real break, you must READ. Because a day without the UACM program is a day without . . . (Fill in the blank with your own ideas) =)

Although I wasn't as stuborn, I also wished our name would have become "Urbtopia." But, we only had ten minutes to decide, so I just stopped voting and let the ones that were switching back and forth take over. I was behind each name at that point! Although it's not the name I wanted, I apprecicte the conversations that went in to deciding it.

I also thought the letters and quotes Dr.s Williams gave us was heartwarming. I plan on keeping them forever...they will be laminated and hung in my classroom!! :D

Jessica,

I can definitely understand your frustration. It was a very difficult process. I think it was even more difficult because it is not a system we are used to. At one point I would have done anything to just vote and get it over with. I think the struggl that we had in class today will be representative of the struggle we may encounter in the classroom as we try to implement new things and "erridicat the status quo." Not only did I learn a new way of doing things, but it was also a lesson in patience. I am still working on mastering the latter skill, but every lesson is beneficial in the process of change.
