2nd Grade @ CLeveland Ave. Elementary….what an experience! (Journal V)

I love my mentor teacher and my kids LITERALLY say the DARNDEST things!! My teacher has been teaching for 40 years and she is SO on point!! She’s like what I thought a teacher should be. You know how you used to think teachers should know EVERYTHING (before you became a teacher!lol) I feel like I can relate to my students a little better at Cleveland than at Idlewood. My teacher keeps me laughing and she straight DIVA!lol…I love it! Second semester is such an adjustment, not just because its a different grade but because you have to come into a class in the middle of the year and adjust to their way of doing things. I’m super ready for student teaching to be over despite the fact that i do enjoy my placement! Two semesters just seems a little much to me!! This Thematic Unit…well I dont have anything positive to say so I wont say anything at all, but the timing is HORRIBLE…could we have gotten a little heads up LAST semester!? I mean really…but hey things are what they are! BYE!

I so wish I had your teacher at Cleveland. She is wonderful. I wish that there were more teachers with 20 plus years of expierence willing to take on students teachers, because I feel like I would learn more in not letting the stress from admid get to me, and to focus on the students more. Plus, a new teacher can learn a lot of productive short cuts from a teacher that has been in the game that long, such as not getting lost in the details that other people WANT and seeing the full picture.
I Really, Really wish I had your teacher. While I was there, I learned so much from the short conversation that we had, such as how to grade a failing student, and which type of Indians lived in Georgia. I bet shes just filling your head with all the knowledge of how to make it as teacher for so long.
Yeah Anna K. Ms. Williams is great! She is my role model!! She knows so much stuff about Black History and any subject for that matter! & she knows a lot of good little ways to teach things to kids so that they’ll get it and remember it!…I was lucky to get her! & as you know Admin is the least of her worries!!lolol…When I hear her opinion on administration and how she reacts towards them I think about how I feel about this program and how I respond to some of our “professors”!!lol…Oh well, I’ve actually said too much already!!lol….Thanks for commenting dear, my blog page was feeling a little neglected!!lol See ya Monday!
I’m SO glad you’re havig a good experience at Cleveland! I TOTALLY agree with you on the timing of this thematic unit. I was about to put a few more adjectives in front of that, but I guess it would be better for me to leave that alone! I feel like pulling my hair out EVERY day, but we’re 3 weeks away from certification (thank you, Jesus) so we just have to hang in there and eventually, this too shall pass. On a positive note, I’m learning how to keep my mouth shut in order to spare the feelings of those in charge!
